Adobe Spark
First, I thoroughly enjoyed making the Adobe Spark presentation. Adobe Spark is a tool I will use in the future and not only for the lesson I created here. My students will use the presentation I made. Students will use the video in a station to learn about abiotic and biotic factors in an ecosystem. They will distinguish between the two factors and identify them by the end of the short lesson. This tool is very beneficial to visual learners and ELL students who have not yet acquired the English language. I can place captions and speak while the examples are displayed. The examples immediately tie a real-world example to the topic. Changing the time that the visuals stay up also allows the students to study the image and answer questions aloud via discussion.
In a project-based assignment, I would use this for learning checkpoints and stations before moving on to the project task. I would also use Adobe Spark as the medium for their project. It can support all 4 C's: collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking. The students' creativity would keep them engaged and, based on the parameters, can be presented to a broad audience increasing the LoTI Level. Since I am in middle school, I would tell them only to use the free images and resources available when creating their project. If I could get ELA to work with science and turn it into a cross-curricular project-based assignment, I would incorporate citing sources and open more resources for their use.
